Mae Makes a New Friend

Mae went to the park on a sunny day. She saw a girl sitting alone on a bench. The girl looked sad.
Mae walked over and said, "Hi! My name is Mae. Do you want to play?" The girl looked up and smiled just a little. Her name was Ann.
Ann said she was new to town. She did not know anyone yet. Mae took her hand and said, "Now you know me!"
They played on the swings and shared Mae's snack. By the end of the day, they were laughing and running together. Ann did not feel sad anymore.
