Mae Bakes Muffins

Reading & Writing · 5 questions

Read the story carefully. Then answer each question in your best handwriting.

Mae wanted to do something kind for her neighbor, Mr. Webb. He lived alone and sometimes looked lonely. Mae decided to bake him some blueberry muffins.

She measured the flour and sugar carefully. She stirred in the blueberries. The batter went into the pan, and the pan went into the oven.

The kitchen smelled warm and sweet. When the muffins were done, Mae put them in a little basket with a yellow ribbon on the handle.

Mr. Webb opened his door and smiled the biggest smile Mae had ever seen. He said, "Nobody has brought me muffins in a very long time." Mae felt happy all the way home.
