Mae and Kai's Rainy Day Plan

Reading & Writing · 5 questions

Read the story carefully. Then answer each question in your best handwriting.

Mae and Kai had big plans for Saturday. They were going to ride bikes around the neighborhood. But when Saturday morning came, rain was hitting the windows hard.

Mae felt disappointed. Kai felt disappointed too. The bike ride was not going to happen. But then Mae had an idea. What if they made today an indoor adventure day instead?

Kai loved the idea. They built a giant fort in Mae's living room using blankets and chairs. Inside the fort, Mae and Kai read books and drew a map of an imaginary island together.

By afternoon, they did not miss the bike ride at all. Sometimes the best plans are the ones you make up as you go, especially with a good friend.
